Avocado and Grapefruit Salad

Rich, creamy avocado goes beautifully with juicy, tangy grapefruit in this simple and delicious salad.

  • Sharp knife (adult needed)
  • Measuring spoons
  • Serving bowl
  • Salad servers or tongs

Ingredients

 

  • 1 grapefruit
  • 2 avocados
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon or lime juice
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Instructions

 

  • Put all the ingredients in the bowl and toss gently. Serve right away or cover and refrigerate up to 1 hour.

Notes

DID YOU KNOW?

In the photograph here, we “supremed” our grapefruit, which means that instead of peeling and sectioning it by hand, we used a knife to cut the peel off and then cut the fruit out of the membranes. But you can just peel it and pull it apart however you like.
