Rich, creamy avocado goes beautifully with juicy, tangy grapefruit in this simple and delicious salad.
Sharp knife (adult needed)
Salad servers or tongs
- 1 grapefruit
- 2 avocados
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon or lime juice
- 1⁄2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 pinch black pepper
Put all the ingredients in the bowl and toss gently. Serve right away or cover and refrigerate up to 1 hour.
In the photograph here, we “supremed” our grapefruit, which means that instead of peeling and sectioning it by hand, we used a knife to cut the peel off and then cut the fruit out of the membranes. But you can just peel it and pull it apart however you like.
