The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts is one of the four SNAP-Ed Implementing Agencies in the state. They offer nutrition workshops and other activities to promote healthy eating and active living. In December, the Massachusetts SNAP-Ed team had the opportunity to visit the Food Bank for the grand opening of their new building. The Food Bank now has a new workshop space including a teaching kitchen to provide even more classes for people throughout Western Mass. If You have already benefitted from one of these classes, we encourage you to join in another class to experience this new space.
The warehouse in this new building is also much larger here than their previous facility, which means they can provide more food and more meals throughout the region to seniors, individuals, and families and the more than 70 food pantries they partner with. Thanks to this new space, the Food Bank is working hard to ensure everyone in Western Mass has enough access to healthy food.
